Manifestation Madness

I have touched on how this following around manifestation has really blown up these past few years. I think manifestation is a layered topic amongst many in the wellness industry. I do think that the topic of manifestation is denser than one may think.

⚡️Manifestation teaches that as long as you place yourself in the frequency of what you desire sooner or later you will attain it. The process is condensed to thinking your way to what you’re calling in but leaves out what makes these things actually, umm manifest!

🌈In order to manifest your dream life one needs to have as many of these as possible: Privilege, access, resources, time, financial stability, security, ability to risk, sacrifice, emotional bandwidth, mental health, good health…

🏛It assumes one has the emotional bandwidth to journey this path. It surely assumes one is white Anglo Saxon and has easy access to resources. The ability to sacrifice is also pertinent to manifesting and many do not have this possibility, manifesting involves taking risks that can include losing a job, steady income, or a roof over your head. Manifestation ignores systemic racism, colorism, sexism, colonialism, capitalism, white supremacy, oppression, poverty, structures, and systems that do not allow for growth in the BIPOC communities. Therefore making it seem like everyone should be living their best life is a form of gaslighting in my opinion.

📓I believe the reason people can manifest has to do with access to resources, who they know, or their ability to be ok losing something, having the ability to risk is super important when it comes to manifesting. Believe me, the entire path will not present itself at once. There is a sense of patience, diligence, persistence, faith, trust, and space for whatever else needs to happen, that which you cannot control. This person manifesting has to be ok with all of these different aspects and facets of the process.

🙋🏽‍♀️Will manifesting look differently from one generation to the next? Absolutely! How about a person who is Caucasian to a BIPOC? Hell yes! Someone in a low socioeconomic status vs someone who has a trust fund? Definitely! A mother of 2 vs a person who is single? Someone who has not experienced life-altering traumatic events to someone who has lived a comfortable life? Ok, I think you get the point.

😏Now I am not saying you can not manifest, I am saying that there is more to manifestation than meets the eye. I was lucky I was able to live with my family until I could get my name out there and even begin to establish myself. I spent months unemployed, working part-time jobs being the oldest out of my co-workers, I was barely supporting myself. I had my family I could rely on but not everybody has that option. The way I was finally able to save money is ironic and so timely and almost as if I made it up. I would describe it but I don’t think it would do this blog any justice, I will say that what we perceive as devastation, like a car accident, a termination of some sort, is never really just that. The process of starting over is where the gold is found.

🌸Because there is a collaboration with grit and getting what you want for most people it bothers me when I see white Anglo-Saxon women ranting and raving about how to manifest. I think, well what struggle do you come across meeting your manifestation? What oppression do you have to go against in the process? Is it really that easy? Or is it because you are privileged? *This isn’t their fault but there is no inkling of what life is really like for those of us who are colored. It’s like they’re wearing rose-colored glasses and we are living two different realities. This is always the case BUT it would be nice to see them at least address the differences. No sorry, I can’t just call on my spirit animal because my whole ancestral lineage is needing me to heal slavery, oppression, and overworking. I need more of a miracle.

🏋🏽‍♀️So yes, it’s heavy and that’s ok too. Acknowledging and expressing it is important. I feel seen and I hope you feel seen.

🪄I believe manifestation is an alignment of sacrifice, work, persistence, risk, mental health, surrender, access, and ultimately divine timing. Manifestation is a synergistic dance.

So the next time you hear that popular Anglo Saxon influencere🙄 talk about manifestation, you know there’s so much more to it than just the idealistic concept.
